A Brief History of the
Pio Del Pilar High School
The Pio Del Pilar High School was founded in 1947 by former Senator Jovito Salonga. Originally located on A. Mabini Street in Barangay Poblacion, the school relocated twice: to J. Rizal Avenue (at the corner of Escuela Street) and then to F. Zobel (corner Morong), both in Barangay Poblacion.
Pio Del Pilar High School became a public institution in 1999 when its assets were purchased by the City of Makati which then renamed the school “Makati High School – Pio Del Pilar Annex.”
In June 28, 2002, the city once more renamed the school “Pio Del Pilar National High School.”

It was a night to remember!
Schoolmates and their guests started filing into the Makati Sports Club at 5:00 PM - and by 7:00 PM, the place was packed.
The party began - with dinner being served - after Nelson Diadula led in the singing of the Philippine national anthem, Lupang Hinirang.
While schoolmates and their guests were busy with dinner, Lina Almazan (batch 1968) surprised everyone with a fantastic performance consisting of two HUla dance routines. Lina is from Hawaii.
|
|
Dancing followed dinner, which was followed by a seemingly endless raffle of valuable prizes, followed by more dancing.
All the fun was made more memorable with the performance of seven DIs (dance instructors) who demonstrated their ballroom skills.
A special “Thanks!” is due to our donors: Liza Swang, Vickie Madeja, Jean Gloria Malig, Noemi Narra-Torres, Jose Tamonte Jr., Elizabeth Francisco Calara, Leila Pabellano Guevarra, Belen Quitoriano Luckhart, Margie Antonlin, Lina Almazan, Boy Agustin, and the Class of 2013!

2013 All-Classes Grand Reunion themed ‘Western Round Up’
It was a night to remember. The Pillarians got together to celebrate their union and reminisce their good old days.
Sixty-two schoolmates (some coming from Hawaii and Florida) and 42 of their guests met at the Holiday Inn South San Francisco on Friday, November 1, 2013 in what was billed as a “Western Round Up”, the 2013 reunion theme.
The night’s program, emceed by Mike Sanchez Brito, started with the singing of the US and Philippines national anthems, followed by a welcome message by organizer Nelia Sanchez Flaviano, a message from Lorna Camacho Pacis (honored guest and organization adviser), and an invocation by Nelson Diadula. After a sumptuous buffet dinner, the Pillarians and their guests enjoyed a special performance by Lirio Vital, whose captivating voice entranced an awed audience. Dancing was punctuated by the taking of group pictures, games staged by Edna Lalata Kogut, and raffling of prizes conducted by Norma Quintos Willis.
